There is nothing terrible about this. Why should we look back on our records? Nobody annuls them, they just go down in history. If someone is interested, they can look at these results.

Records remain in the memory of people and in history forever. Records are not canceled, just a new judging system comes into force, it can’t compete with the old one because it has different rules.

All the coaches in the world were against this system. But nobody bothered asking us. It’s disgrace. We have raised several generations of athletes. It was necessary to discuss this. But now everyone is terrified.

The most important thing is to find ways to develop figure skating, to evaluate quadruple jumps. It seems to me that this system doesn’t allow developing of new interesting, technically complex areas. It doesn’t motivate. You shouldn’t simplify to make it just more convenient for a bunch of people to judge. Judges do not develop, they only evaluate. – Tarasova said.

Don’t take this decision ISU so zealously. Any new rules of the competition require a reassessment of the significance of the record. When there were compulsory figures, the sum of the points was completely different. Without figures, the sum of the points is different.

Now the revolutionary changes in the rules happen. Therefore, past records can’t be compared compared with the records that will be any way. The records of our figure skaters are now history, and there’s nothing offensive in this. – Mishin said
