Great Costumes from Alexa Scimeca & Chris Knierim

US pair Alexa Scimeca & Chris Knierim for their free program chose the music from Elizabeth the Golden Age. It was an ambitious choice not only in terms of music but also in terms of costumes. Costume designer Alexandra Byrne got the Oscar for this costumes, so, I was intrigued what Alexa and Chris will wear. And they didn’t disappointed me!

This costumes have it all! The sense of style and historical details, costumes are matched with each other, the colors are great, appliques are sophisticated! What I also like is that costumes don’t look too costume-y, it still a figure skating costumes not theatrical. And of course this costumes look wonderful on pair. Especially Chris, he looks just marvelous!

What I do like about the costumes for Alexa Scimeca & Chris Knierim is that they are not just coping the prototypes from the movie. They took some ideas and looking at their costumes it’s noticeable that this is a program to the Golden Age. The style and idea is clear and that is enough. Because you should never forget that it’s still a clothes for sport and competition and not your graduation work for Historical department of the Fashion School. Alexa Scimeca & Chris Knierim did a great job and their costumes are fantastic. They have all chances to be one of the best costumes among pairs in this season.

See who also impressed me at Nebelhorn Trophy 2015 with their costumes. But mayne not in a good way.
