Returning to competitive ice dancing together, Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry reflect on the highs and lows of their rhythm dance performance at the Grand Prix de France, where they placed third. Here’s a translation of thier comments.

The ice dance pair of Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry claimed third place in the rhythm dance at the Grand Prix de France, earning a score of 78.00 points. The duo shared their thoughts on their performance with Sports correspondent Maya Bagryantseva.

Guillaume Cizeron: “Today, we felt the magic of why we came back – the incredible feeling of stepping onto the ice and being able to connect with the audience. We’ve missed that so much. Opening the season at home, in front of our own crowd, is an unforgettable experience.

Yes, I made an unexpected and silly mistake today – I lost my balance during one of the elements, and it cost us dearly. We lost a lot of points, even though it wasn’t a major mistake. But that’s how it goes sometimes, and I’ll use it as a lesson for the future. I can’t even explain why it happened – I just I fucked up, plain and simple,” Cizeron admitted candidly.

Laurence Fournier Beaudry: “I truly enjoyed the performance. Honestly, I didn’t expect to feel this way because I was very nervous before stepping onto the ice. But it turned out to be so much fun and really uplifting.

Yes, there was a mistake, but that’s really a minor thing. From a technical standpoint, we’re in great shape – and we both know that. We’re experienced skaters, so we understand that there’s no changing what’s already happened. Instead, we’ll focus on preparing for our free dance tomorrow.

This was our first time competing as a duo, and the most important thing was that we managed to hold onto the energy and spirit of the dance from start to finish,” Fournier Beaudry concluded.
