Finlandia Trophy 2015 | short dances
Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje and Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker showed their short dances at ISU senior B event – Finlandia Trophy.
Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje like many others decided to be “creative” and made an non classical waltz to Elvis Presley.

Generally I like this dance, but the first part looks stronger and more polished while the second one still needs work. The dance made holistic and great impression. It’s fun and dynamic and suits them a lot, especially Andrew. I wish their twizzles been not so slow and accurate, it’s their weakest element that spoils a bit the overall impression. I also like the costumes a lot! Kaitlyn’s dress just marvelous! I hope they won’t add kilos of decor like it was in previous season.
Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker need strong tech and solid dances if they want to get the spot in US National team for Worlds. After Paul & Islam and Hubbel & Donohue have left Anjelika Krylova’s group this team could expect more attention from their coaches. So, let’s see whether Hawayek and Baker ready to fight with their former group mades.

This dance perfectly shows that nothing can be better for the short dance of this season than a classical waltz music! It’s also a perfect choice for the young duo. The dance is light and tender, no drama only waltz. Ballet moves and assisted jumps create the needed mood and impression of youth and lightness. Great dance, but they need to work on speed and levels. I really hope to see them someday in future as US number one duo.
But Weaver and Poje can’t relax because Gilles ans Poirier really redy to fight. See their dances here.
