Sad news have come from China – Wenjing Sui and Cong Han had to withdraw from the Grand-prix Final in Barcelona. The official reason is Sui’s not completely cured achilles injury.

Too bad we won’t see them at Grand-prix Final, they were one of favorites to win this event. Now, I think the battle for the gold will be between Meagan Duhamel – Eric Radford and Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov. The Final in pairs still will be exciting and we probably will see the opposition of the quality of execution and technical difficulty (you can read here my thoughts about it).

Usually the on the base of Grand-prix Final we can do some predictions about who will win Worlds…..but not this time I think. Because Wenjing Sui and Cong Han is a strong competitors and can always interfere into the fight for gold with their quad twist and quad throw. So, this injury is a consequences of practising the quad throw I suppose. Another proof on how higher level of difficulty and danger pair skating is now! Wish Sui soon recovery!

In the Grand-prix Final Sui and Han will be replaced by another Chinese pair – Cheng Peng and Hao Zhang. I was very sad that they didn’t get into the Final, but who had known that the situation will turned out like this!( But anyway I wish them luck and to skate better than at grand-prix events and they definetly can do it!
