Grand-prix 2016-2017: withdrawals
Grand-prix starts this week but skaters continue to withdraw. Another wave of withdrawals happened recently. So, a portion of sad news:
Julia Lipnitskaya withdrew from Skate America. General Director of Russian Figure skating Federation Alexander Kogan gave a comment:
After competition in Bratislava Julia got an aggravation of an old injury. She will miss Grand-prix in America due to medical reasons. We expect that till Grand-prix in Russia she’ll recover.
In her Instagram Julia posted: “Live through and move further”

Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimom withdrew from both their Grand-prix Rostelecom Cup and NHK Trophy. In September pair had to withdrew from Russian test skates and Finlandia Trophy due to Ksenia’s injury. Ksenia has been diagnosed with inflammation of the periosteum of the tibia, caused by change of boots. According to Ksenia’s Instagram now she’s in US visiting an osteopath Jorge Fernandez, with whom Mozer’s skaters have been working for a long time.
Ksenia and Fedor plan to compete at Russian Nationals:
We’re planning to perform at Russian Nationals, but now it’s difficult to say something, Ksenia is still on treating. – Fedor said
Canadian pair Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro withdrew from Rostelecom cup. There’s no information yet who will replace them.
Denis Ten also withdrew from Skate America. This autumn he also withdrew from Ondrej Nepela Memorial in Bratislava. He’s still on the entry list for Grand Prix in France, but all recent news about Denis (change of coach, withdrawals) don’t make me feel optimistic.
Hope there won’t be any more withdrawals( Health to all athletes!

My God, Julia, come back.
Je me demande si cette histoire de problème de santé est véridique…
Je pense que Julia ne reviendra pas au plus haut niveau..des blessures et une certaine lassitude..héroïne à Sotchi en 2014 et c’est tout…
I will miss Stolbova/Klimov very much.
