According to Alexei Mishin, Russian men’s single skating should reach the level of Olympic champions of Evgeni Plushenko, Alexei Yagudin, Alexei Urmanov after the Olympic Games in 2022.

Alexei Mishin: Nowadays women’s single skating is perhaps the most striking phenomenon in Russian and world figure skating. The whole world is doing single skating, thousands, maybe millions. Now is a historical moment, when our men’s skating is not at its peak, the upcoming Olympic Games will complete a four-year period, but there will be new four-year period after. We need to think about this Olympic cycle as a start to a new one, in which our men’s skating, our St. Petersburg school takes a significant place, also reaching a higher level. The level of Urmanov, Yagudin, Plushenko, (World Championship medalist Artur) Gachinsky. And we are striving for this.
