Best dresses from ISU JGP Cup of Austria 2017. Ladies
I just realised that I haven’t discussed junior fashion for a while. So let’s take a look at ladies from JGP Cup of Austria.
As you can remember, I never criticize bad costumes in juniors, even don’t rank their costumes. I just point out which of them I liked and why.
Hana CVIJANOVIC
Lovely girlish dress. Nice color combination. These colors always look good on young girls. Nice ombre effect, light chiffon skirt look good in motion. I also like the moderate amount of finishing. I really liked this dress, but don’t really understand what it has to do with Edith Piaf “Milord”. I think she should keep this dress for some other program)
Angelina HUANG
I don’t actually like this skirt, I think it’d be better not to show the underlayer that much. But the top is very beautiful! Great, sophisticated finishing. This top reminds me of Disney princess. I also want to point out interesting not typical for figure skating color combination.
Sophia SCHALLER
This dress is simple, but quite nice. I remembered it due to pink and black ombre on the bodice which from distance looked like drapery. I also liked tiny sleeves made of laces. The only thing – I wish the skirt was a bit longer. With a longer skirt this dress would look more elegant.
Moa IWANO
Ah, such a tribute to Julia Lipnitskaya’s dress from Olympic short program!) But I have nothing against when young skaters follow their idols. Especially, when the dress is well sewn, well fitted and suits the girl. Classic, elegant dress, of beautiful deep blue color which always looks so good on the ice.
Silvia HUGEC
This lovely white and blue dress reminds me of gzhel (style of Russian ceramics) and dresses by Roberto Cavalli:
Polina USTINKOVA
La la land in pink. Unfortunately, I haven’t found good photos( But I really liked this dress! Lovely design, tender pink shade. Such a stylish retro dress. I was surprised that she didn’t copy one of the dresses from the movie. But I’d gladly take off these black gloves, they look too heavy for this dress.
Starr ANDREWS
Amazing dress! Brad Griffies design? I like this bright accent on the side. Such an unexpected splash of color. Perfect match of nude illusion mesh. The dress has very expensive look.
Anastasiia GUBANOVA
Classic and elegant look! Deep blue suits Anastasia a lot. The dress has nice flow. And I really like that dress has only one accent – sophisticated necklace. Anastasia is very beautiful girl and there’s no need ho hide her under tons of finishing.
First, I like the tender color. Second, I like the design, it looks like a real sundress. third, I like the flow, such dresses always look so good in motion. Both her dresses looks very feminine, dresses for a young lady.
Eunsoo LIM
This costume drew my attention because it’s not another usual dress leotard+chiffon skirt. I see it rather like an adaptation of modern trend short top+high waist skirt. Turned out really cool and unusual. I also liked the finishing pattern and well matched nude illusion mesh.
Usually I don’t like dresses with so much nude illusion. If she was older this dress would look too provocative. But while it looks ok. The dress reminds me of costumes for rhythmic gymnastics. I’m also glad that she didn’t wear black and red dress for a tango)
