Tatiana Tarasova spoke about the admission of Russian skaters to the Olympic qualification and non admission to European and World Championships.

“What is the main event of the season? Probably the allowance to compete in the Olympic selection. We weren’t granted access to the European Championships or the World Championships, even though the European Championships takes place before the Olympic Games. It’s simply outrageous.

The season is about to start — everyone is working on new programs, creating new transitions — but we have no clearance. We couldn’t understand at all why we were disqualified because sports and politics are supposed to be separate, as they say.

We earned our spots, but now they’re making a small gesture — they’re inviting us to the Olympics in minimal numbers. We’ve never sent such a small number of athletes before. They pretend to be doing something significant, but in fact, they’re doing nothing worthwhile.

One athlete per discipline — that’s pure hooliganism. When we were disqualified, we had three spots in each discipline. How can anyone rely on the people who made this decision? In any case, there’s no faith or hope in these people,” said Tatiana Tarasova.
