Yuma Kagiyama (21, Oriental Bio/Chukyo University), who is aiming for his first victory at the World Figure Skating Championships starting on March 26, arrived in Boston, USA, on March 24. Here’s a translation of his comments posted on Nikkansports.
“My jumps, spins, and footwork are in the best shape possible. I want to compete with confidence,” he said, expressing his determination.
Kagiyama, who had been training at a pre-event camp in Toronto, Canada, had originally planned to travel on March 23 but experienced a one-day delay due to a flight cancellation. This competition also serves as an important qualifier for the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics next February.
Shun Sato (21), shared his own outlook: “I’ve done what I needed to do in training, so now it’s just a matter of delivering during the actual event. My quad jumps are in decent shape,” he said, confidently anticipating his Worlds debut.
