In the interview with RSport, Alexandra Trusova talks about competitions, shows and her personal life. Here’s a translation of her comments.

Interview was taken at the Angels of Plushenko’s academy where Alexandra practiced her program for the show. RSport correspondent wrote “After watching the Russian Rocket’s program at Evgeni Plushenko’s academy, it gave the impression that the next skate will be in front of the federation’s leadership. This feeling was reinforced by the print on Alexandra’s sports jacket, which she put on after the skate: “Who said it’s impossible, I said it’s possible!”

Q: It’s hard to believe that the program we saw is meant for a show. It feels like you’re planning on “shaking things up.”

Alexandra Trusova: So far, I’m skating in shows and haven’t competed. I’m skating for my own pleasure. I have two programs that were choreographed last season. I’m skate them in practice. I’m most interested to see if I can pull it off.

Q: Is Evgeni Plushenko joking when he says he’ll send a training video to the federation to enroll you into the test skates?

Alexandra Trusova: I don’t think anyone has filmed anything. But let’s see. I’m not ready to answer this question yet. And it’s better to address it to Evgeni Viktorovich (Plushenko).

Q: Do you miss competitions or have other priorities arisen in your life?

Alexandra Trusova: I have different interests now, which I am immensely happy about. I’m trying myself in different areas. I still like figure skating, I go out on the ice every day. Just like in the days when I was competing at a high level. I can’t say that I really want to compete in any competitions, but I definitely lack adrenaline in my current life.

Q: Among your fans on the internet, there is a lively discussion about choosing the best program of Alexandra Trusova, and the ‘Evil Fate’ and ‘Cruella’ programs have made it to the final. Which one would you prefer?

Alexandra Trusova: Why did they forget ‘Frida’? All of my programs are diverse and interesting. I love each one. Probably, ‘Cruella’ is closer to my spirit. But ‘Frida’, today, being older, I would skate it better.

Q: What image would you like to show in a competitions today?

Alexandra Trusova: A new one that I have never tried before. The same can be said for the shows, in which I am fully engaged thanks to Evgeni Plushenko and Yana Rudkovskaya. There is an opportunity to develop by trying something new.

Q: In addition to ice shows, you’ve tried yourself out in show competitions from athletics to soccer and even as a vocalist…

Alexandra Trusova: All this also helps me develop. Moreover, thanks to these experiments I’ve become less shy and tense. Big help came from my friends Sofia Samodelkina, Anna Frolova, Maria Leushkina. By constantly communicating with them, I realized that there’s no need to feel shy under any circumstances.

Q: Doesn’t the constant close interest in your personal life bother you at times?

Alexandra Trusova: No. I try not to intrude on other’s private lives, but I’m often photographed even when I don’t want to be. I don’t dwell on it and don’t consider it a problem. I prefer to share information myself on social media, even knowing that it can trigger various reactions – both positive and negative.

Q: You’ve decided to tie your fate with Makar Ignatov and have applied for a wedding registration a few months after beginning the romance.

Alexandra Trusova: You don’t know when it started! That’s all I can say.

Q: Have you chosen a date for your wedding ceremony, compiled a guest list, ordered a wedding dress?

Alexandra Trusova: Everything is in process so far. We discuss all issues with Makar and decide together.

Q: In the future, do you see yourself in figure skating?

Alexandra Trusova: I’m not thinking about that yet. I live for today. I do what I like and I’m happy.”

That’s the greatness of Sasha – people may say whatever they want, she’ll smile and then show them how easy the ‘impossible’ can be… oh dear, should she really come back to competitions, if only for her swan song, I’d be the happiest person in the world! Plus she deserves her olympic gold.
