Korean Jia Shin took first place in the women’s short program of the Figure Skating Junior World Championships. Here’s a translation of her comment posted on MFocus.
“For the first time, I performed cleanly without mistakes, and it’s my first time placing first in the short program, so I’m very happy. I didn’t feel too nervous before going into the short program, so I think I was able to focus more on myself and perform each element calmly. I didn’t expect to receive such a high score, but I’m glad to have shown a clean short program at the Junior Worlds.”
“I prepared to perform calmly without nervousness, even though I performed last. I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be, performing last allowed me to focus more on myself.”
