“I’m extremely nervous!” she said, but she overcame it with a secret strategy she introduced this season as something she “discovered.” Until just before her performance, she didn’t wear her skates, maintaining a relaxed state. She shared, “It’s a strategy to finish the performance before being swallowed by tension, and it seems to be working well.”

As for the triple axel, she mentioned, “I might be asleep during the competition. However, I plan to wake it up somehow.” In her debut appearance at this competitions last season, she finished 5th. This time, she approaching the competition with a sense of ease. She said, “I am relatively calm. In the midst of that, it’s a fact that I’m aiming for a performance that will lead to the future.”

Rinka also shared her goal of mastering quadruple jump, saying ‘If I can’t master the quadruple jump this offseason, I might think of quitting skating. I have to feel it,’ she encouraged, having set her mind to successfully executing the triple axel as part of that process.
