Tutberidze is a mentor in a weight-loss show set to air on February 9th. One of the participants shared her opinion on Eteri Tutberidze and her methods. Here’s a translation.

“Q: What is your opinion of Eteri Tutberidze after the filming?

— I believe that every team needs a person like Eteri Georgievna, especially in our challenging field of weight loss: strong, unwavering, with a tough character and harsh but effective methods.

When I joined the project, I knew it would be a place where I couldn’t feel sorry for myself. All the extra kilograms came from self-pity and the belief that I was already good looking enough. This mindset led me to become this huge, unmanageable weight, and I didn’t know what to do with myself.

Eteri Georgievna taught me not to accept what I wasn’t satisfied with, to demand more from myself, to put in more effort, work harder, and never pity myself. She was the most significant person for me on the project and helped me maintain the bar.

If Eteri Georgievna said that losing -4 kg per week was not enough, I listened to Tutberidze.

Q: How would you characterize Tutberidze?

— She is a very resilient, unwavering person who does not tolerate any weakness.

Q: There is a perception that Tutberidze’s methods are harsh and tough. Is that really so

— Yes, it’s true, there’s no denying it. But in sports and weight loss, other methods don’t work. Everyone understands what led them to excess weight — lack of willpower, character, desire, self-pity. I hate people who pity themselves, and Eteri Georgievna is exactly the same.

If not for her methods, most girls would have left the project without losing anything. Each of the girls was afraid of Tutberidze’s gaze at the eviction ceremony. And I was afraid too. If we weren’t afraid, we wouldn’t have achieved any success.

Q: How was it working with Tutberidze?

— Perhaps some consider her too tough, too uncompromising, but these qualities only helped me on the project. I came to “Big Girls” with the determination not to feel sorry for myself and not to pity my body.

Eteri Georgievna fully supported me in this and helped me stay true to my goal when I thought I was overdoing it with the load and needed to slow down a bit.

Eteri Georgievna made it clear to me that I shouldn’t pity myself and should continue to “give it gas,” — said Usmanilaeva.

Q: What advice from Tutberidze do you remember the most? Whom did she use as an example?

— When we were at the Ice Palace, she talked about Lipnitskaya – she used her as an example of a person who managed to overcome addictions and solve problems with her weight.

I paid close attention to what Eteri Georgievna said because this person has raised so many Olympic champions, instilled discipline in so many girls!

You can’t let the words of such a person pass by. Every passing remark of hers was read as advice,” — said Amina Usmanilaeva, a participant in the “Big Girls” project.
