According to RIA Novosti coaches have been forbidden from accepting and providing professional support to ice dancer Valeriy Angelopol who recently has split up with Vasilisa Kaganovskaya.
Here’s the translation of the news posted on RSports.
“Coaches in figure skating have been forbidden from accepting and providing professional support to Valeriy Angelopol, the winner of the Grand Prix Final in ice dance, according to several unrelated sources as reported by RIA Novosti.
Vasilisa Kaganovskaya and Valeriy Angelopol, who were students of Anjelika Krylova, ceased their joint training in August. Later, Krylova informed RIA Novosti that Kaganovskaya was having tryouts with former Russian champion and junior world championship medalist Maxim Nekrasov, while Angelopol left the group.
As per the sources, Angelopol would like to continue his career and find a new partner. However, the leaders of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) do not support him in this endeavor. They have not allowed the skater to access any ice rinks or coaches to maintain his shape, and all his attempts to contact Alexander Kogan, the general director of the FFKKR, have been unsuccessful.
Angelopol and Kaganovskaya competed in senior competitions starting from the 2022/23 season and became the winners of the Russian Grand Prix Final held in March of this year. In August, it was revealed that the pair had ended their joint performances by mutual agreement. Later, Kaganovskaya stated on her social media that Angelopol had pressured her to sign an agreement requiring her to provide him full financial support; otherwise, the partnership would dissolve.”

We will never know the truth because of the politics involved. And shame on the coach for not bringing this out to the students and parents for a sit down discussion. Anjelica Krylova was the one who suggested some type of contract to keep the students together on the ice.
What a traitor! Remember God knows all. I don’t wish anything bad for either party but God will make things right in good time. You were suppose to protect you athelets ( both of them). And you failed as a coach. As I see it coach, you lost here.
Maybe it was time for both students to move on, maybe they grew apart, but that’s what happens when you get romantically involved at a very young age. Well, what’s done is done. And you know the truth. So live with that. In order to hurt Valeriy you went to federation and tried to ruin him. But God is watching over him. Good try. Now the Angels of Plushenko Academy will support him and his talents. Maximum Staviski believed in him and followed him to the Angels Academy. Hummm. No need to say anything else. The actions spoke for themselves. Again, much success to both parties.
It is a shame these two can’t work it out as clearly they where born to skate together. Put away your egos & do it for the love of the ice, the sport & yes even us fans!

I would pressume USA will accept him but due to Politics maybe not. I agree Valeri is talented and should not be wasted just because of politics and personal favors.

Do you know why they ended the partnership? He was demanding she pay for all of his training, traveling fees, and other ridiculousness.
Well that was the only reason which was said publicly. But I’ve heard rumors that Valeriy wanted to split even before bringing the contract to Vasilisa but they didn’t let him.
Hopefully someone will give Valeriy a chance to skate again
He is too good to be stopped at his young age
Someone needs to help Valeriy be able to skate. He has a lot of talent and it would be awful to lose this talent. It took both Valeriy and Vasilisa to break up this partnership.
