On September 26-28, the Russian figure skater will participate via video link in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) hearings regarding her doping case.

The arbitrators appointed for the case are American Mr Jeffrey Mishkin, Frenchman Dr Mathieu Maisonneuve, as well as representatives from the United Kingdom and Australia, Mr James Drake.

“I don’t believe that a court, presided over by an American, will surprise us with a decision that we consider fair. Especially in the case of a talented Russian girl who is not guilty of anything. We don’t care because we know she is innocent of what happened,” said the Honored Coach of the USSR in figure skating.

The choreographer of the Tutberidze group expressed a pessimistic outlook on Valieva’s case.

“I think they will do everything to punish her. I have a somehow pessimistic premonition because everything has been done and is being done to discredit Russia, Russian athletes, and in this case, Kamila Valieva. There should be people on both sides. Otherwise, it turns into an unfair game, a one-way street. But I’m not surprised at all,” said Alexei Zheleznyakov, the choreographer of the Eteri Tutberidze group.
