The first junior Grand-Prix in Bratislava starts on August 19th. The entries for this event have been already published on ISU site. Of course list of participants still can be changed.

There are a lot of juniors (especially in single skating), some of whom I will see for the first time, and some I already know. Not all figure skating fans watch junior events, so, I want to make a list of skaters who can be interesting to watch on this event.

Junior Men

DenisMargalik

Denis Margalik. This young guy attracted my attention last year, when he placed 12th at Junior Worlds. I was intrigued where did Argentina find such a promising skater. Than I discovered that he competed internationally for Canada and he is the 2014 Canadian Junior Champion. Actually, I surprised that national champion decided to represent another country. I think he had good chances in Canada. Yes, there is no competition in Argentina but we all know that it’s no easy to be a skater form a country with small figure skating federation. Anyway I wish him a lot of luck and to improve his results.

roman-sadovsky

Roman Sadovsky. Canadian Roman Sadovsky isn’t a newbie at grand prix, it’s his third year in juniors. Last year he won one grand-prix event and got to the Final but then haven’t shown such good results at Junior Worlds. And I think it’s time for him to show that win wasn’t a coincidence and he is medal contender. He has lines and flexibility, good spins and air position in jumps. He can develop into an interesting skater, but the thing he needs is consistency.

Alexander Samarin. He is also not a newbie on the junior competitions so, we can expect solid performances from this Russian young man. I would say he’s more a technical skater rather that a performer, but maybe he improved in second mark. While Alexander Petrov and Adian Pitkeev will try themselves at senior level it’s a good chance for Samarin to become the leading Russian junior man.

vincent zhou

Vincent Zhou. I’m excited to see American Vincent Zhou debuting on junior grand-prix. Hope he completely recovered from injury and now ready to go. Because he’s such a talent! He has everything to become a champion one day. Vincent Zhou is a skater of new generation who from the young ages use to skate a component programs full of transitions and choreo moves, pay attention to skating skills and performance execution.

Meanwhile, you can check my men’s figure skating costumes rating
