Alexander Zhulin: “When they reported about a positive doping test in the Russian team and didn’t gave a name, every coach was worried what if it’s his athlete.”

A day after the victory of the Russian national team in the Olympic figure skating team event, it became known that the doping test of 15-year-old Kamila Valieva, passed at the Russian Nationals in December last year, tested positive for the banned substance trimetazidine.
Alexander Zhulin: If the great organization WADA had informed the coach and the entire federation, of course, putting any girl in the team, we would have beaten the USA by these 9 points anyway. But they waited for the moment when on the February 7th we won everything, and on the February 8th they reported that the medals would not be awarded due to a positive doping test in the Russian team. Haven’t gave a name. We all suffered there. By the way, I was worried – what if it was my athlete. And every coach was worried. Sokolovskaya – for Kondratiuk, Tutberidze – for sure, for Valieva, Moskvina – for Mishina / Galliamov. We lived in uncertainty for a couple of days, then the journalists blurted everything out.

It needs to be remembered that an article from the Russian press announced this. It was pulled from the internet. Of course everyone else jumped on it.
If you’re not doping, there’s no reason to be worried….
Why do all coaches worry unless all are doping athletes?
No, Mr. Zhulin! Russada did this mess. They were the first to receive the results and didn’t bother to prioritize it to Wada.
