Figure skater Mihhail Selevko, who has ended his collaboration with his previous coach Irina Kononova, will now practice under the guidance of Svetlana Varnavskaja, the coach of two-time European champion Niina Petrokina. Here’s a translation.
On Tuesday, 23-year-old Mihhail Selevko announced via social media that he is making a major change in his career.
“I have decided to start a new chapter in my career and continue with a new coaching team. This was not an easy decision and was preceded by much consideration,” Selevko said.
“I have skated with this team my whole life, and I am very grateful to my coaches for their years of support and dedication. Now, however, I am looking forward to what the future has to offer,” added Selevko, who has been crowned Estonian champion four times.
Mihhail Selevko’s new coach, Varnavskaja, told that she does not wish to comment on the collaboration with Selevko at this time.
At this year’s European Championships in Sheffield, Mihhail Selevko finished sixth, right behind his brother Aleksandr, and after the short program, he was in third place.
