The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has appealed the decision of the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee (DAK RUSADA) to find Kamila Valieva not guilty of a doping violation.
The Russian Anti-Doping Agency has appealed to CAS the decision of the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee to find Kamila Valieva not guilty of a doping violation.
CAS registers the appeals filed by RUSADA, ISU and WADA against the decision issued by the RUSADA Disciplinary Anti-Doping Commission dated 14 December 2022 concerning the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva
“RUSADA seeks a ruling from CAS setting aside the Challenged Decision and finding the Athlete to have committed an ADRV (Anti-Doping Rule Violation) under the RUSADA Anti-Doping Rules (RUSADA ADR), and sanctioned with “the appropriate consequences (which may include or be limited to a reprimand) in respect of such ADRV pursuant to the RUSADA ADR.” the document says.
On January 13, DAK RUSADA, which is an independent body, found the skater not guilty of an anti-doping rule violation. The Committee ruled that, despite the fact of the violation, there was no fault or negligence on the part of the athlete. After that, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) filed an appeal against the decision of DAK RUSADA.
