Russian officials and specialists commented on the proposal by the Norwegian Skating Association to raise the age minimum in figure skating.
According to the initiative, minimum age for competing in seniors will be 17 for women and men, and 16 – for ice dance and pairs.

Alexander Gorshkov: We have already stated more than once that our federation is categorically against raising the age minimum, and we are ready to argue our position once again.
Why does Norway need it? Let those who propose it answer this. Better ask them.

Well, the good thing is people know there is a skating association in Norway.
I have a feeling that Russians have a serious inferiority complex judging by these answers…
Well I think the problem it is there, Norway just happened to propose it surely because other countries weren’t really eager to do it (maybe it would have affected their athletes?)
Maybe Zimbabwe skating association can make alternative proposal…
