Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: Before it was scary to go on the triple axel, but now it’s ok
Elizaveta Tuktamysheva about her performance at the Russian test skates 2019.
After the short program:
– That’s what the test skates are for, to show the specialists what we have, to be ready for the competition. Specialists are trying as much as possible to “polish”, to help in terms of programs. It’s good that test skates are open for public, it disciplines, you need to perform, to prepare dresses. This is a good kick in the ass, so to speak. It’s cool that so many people have come.
After the test skates I’m going to competitions in Bergamo, I won’t stop by in St. Petersburg, the dress for the free program isn’t ready yet. So I will have to use what I have.
Axel turned out, but combination flip-toe loop didn’t, now it is more difficult than the triple axel, a new combination for me. I took a step forward compared to last season, I hope I will take another step.
After the free program:
– This was the first official skate with two triple axels, and I’m pleased. I could see in my coach’s eyes that everything was fine. We are realistic about our tasks, the coach expects what I can do. Before it was scary to go on the triple axel, but now it’s ok.
