Nikol Gosviani will represent Italy

This summer Nikol Gosviani announced about her engagement with Italian ice dancer Leo Luca Sforza. Then started some talks that it will be a good chance for Nikol to represent Italy internationally. After Carolina kostner finished her career and Valentina Marchei switched to pairs there is no strong competitors among Italian ladies. So, Nikol has good chances to become number 1 in Italy and get the possibility to take part in European and World Championships. What would have been almost impossible for her in Russia due to the fierce competition in Russian National team.

We also can expect one more figure skating wedding! The wedding of Nikol Gosviani and Leo Luca Sforza is appointed on January. Congratulations to a happy couple!

Nikol missed the last season because of the injury. That mean, that more than a year she haven’t taken part in international competition and she doesn’t need to sit out another year to represent Italy. And a marriage with Italian Leo Luca Sforza will make it easier to receive the Italian citizenship.

Good luck to Nikol. She is a beautiful skater, hope she can gain some consistency. Maybe less stressful environment (without all those young girls with various triple-triple combinations and hunger for medals) will help her to develop into amazing feminine skater.

Nikol will work on her programs and choreo with Barbara Riboldi and Corrado Giordani, but yet no information about the future coach.

I’m really happy for Nikol Gosviani, it’s great chance for her to continue her sport career. Let call it a new beginning. It also means that another skater with feminine skating, gorgeous lines, pretty good technik and sense of style will appear at European level.

After Kiira Korpi’s retirement it’s a really good news for European figure skating.
