Alla Loboda & Pavel Drozd: dances for season 2016-2017
Leaders of Russian junior ice dances Alla Loboda and Pavel Drozd competed at local competition, so we can take a look on their new dances.
Short dance:
I liked the dance, it looks pretty unusual, maybe because there was no vocals. I think it’s pretty ambitious dance and I appreciate that. Alla seems to improved in tech and speed, there wasn’t an impression that she can’t keep up with Pavel. Great step sequence! So rythmic, dynamic, with drive. Loved it. I only didn’t like the thing that was after the lift…..it doesn’t look aestetic. So, very promising dance and they’re seem to be in a good shape.
And a little tip on Alla’s dress: I don’t sure that visible beige bra is a good idea.
Free dance:
On the free dance they worked with Benoit Richaud and told in an interview about modern concept and choreography……Well maybe I’m blind and understand nothing in modern dances, but this fd looks like ‘beloved’ traditional Russian drama) It reminded me of Ilinykh/Zhiganshin’s ‘Frida’ and I doubt that it’s a compliment. However, I like the lifts and spin, high speed and power of their skating. Interesting, whether they’re going to keep the black concept for the costumes? I like the idea of completely black costumes, but please, sew something stylish and chic.
