Vicepresident of the International Skating Union (ISU) Alexander Lakernik, who occupies the same position in the Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FFKKR) told that, in his opinion, the Grand Prix of the season-2016/17 will be held in Moscow and Saransk, despite the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

On Tuesday IOC called on the international winter sports federation to suspend the preparation for international competitions in Russia, after the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

I think that, at least for the moment, the international competitions in figure skating – stage of Junior Grand Prix in Saransk and stage of Grand Prix in Moscow – will be held in Russia, in previously arranged locations. It’s my impression and opinion. We’re going to hold these tournaments, in accordance with arranged shedule.

But this does not mean that this issue is finally solved and we can forget about this situation. Because the whole story is like on a volcano. Let’s see how it will develop, which decision IOC will take on July 24. Sure, some of these decisions may affected winter desciplenes too, since we had such recommendations. – Lakernik said.
