Isabeau Levito: “We intentionally created a program that resembles last year’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s. We chose a piece associated with Sophia Loren: she’s an iconic Italian diva, and after all, the Olympics will be held in Milan.”

Isabeau Levito reflects on her growth as a skater, her artistic development, and the inspiration behind her short program at the Grand Prix de France, where she secured third place with a clean performance. Here’s a translation of her comments.

“I truly love competing at this particular Grand Prix event in France. Yes, I won here two years ago, but it’s not just about that. The rink and the audience – everything here is absolutely first-class. I’m so happy to be back and even happier that I delivered a clean performance.”

Levito reflected on the changes in her skating this season. “I feel like I look a bit different on the ice this year. I have better control over my jumps and have become more consistent. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I’m no longer growing, which has given me more confidence in my jumps.”

She also noted improvements in her presentation. “I hope I’ve made progress here too. I’m confident that participating in shows has helped me. I performed in three Stars on Ice tours, and it was an incredible experience. I can see the difference now during competitions – I step onto the ice not just as an athlete, but as someone trying to show greater artistry.”

Regarding her short program, Levito explained the creative decisions behind it. “We intentionally created a program that resembles last year’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s performance. A lot of people asked me if I wanted to keep it for this season, but we didn’t want to repeat anything in an Olympic year.”

She continued, “I really loved that program, so we decided to maintain a similar style – classic cinema, a light, elegant character – I think it suits me well. Of course, it wasn’t a coincidence that we chose a piece associated with Sophia Loren: she’s an iconic Italian diva, and after all, the Olympics will be held in Milan.” Levito’s thoughts and reflections were reported by Sports correspondent Maya Bagryantseva.
