Adam Siao Him Fa recently shared his experience working with Alexei Mishin during a training camp in Courmayeur, Italy. Here’s a translation of her comments conveyed by Sports journalist Maya Bagryantseva.
“I enjoy working with Mishin; he’s very calm and easy to communicate with. It’s fascinating to train with him – he refers to these sessions not as training but as an exchange of experience.
We had three separate lessons, and each one was incredibly useful. Of course, we used his methods, which allowed me to look at my technique from a new perspective. It was important for me to understand where I can become stronger.
What I found interesting is that Mishin didn’t try to radically change anything. Instead, he helped me refine and improve the way I already skate. That approach is very valuable to me.”
Siao Him Fa also noted how his understanding of Mishin’s coaching has evolved over time:
“This time, I felt I understood him much better. It’s not our first encounter – I first worked with Mishin seven years ago at a camp in Courchevel. Back then, I didn’t have much understanding of jump techniques and wasn’t entirely sure what I was doing on the ice. But now, I’ve gained a lot more experience, I’ve matured, and I’ve grown as a skater. I feel ready now to truly benefit from training with Mishin,” said Siao Him Fa.
