Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara announced on their Instagrams on the Feb. 18th that they will change their costumes for this season. Here’s a translation of their comment.
“We will be changing our costumes for this season.
The reason is that during practice at the Grand Prix Final in December, I subluxated my left shoulder, and due to the condition of my shoulder, taping became necessary. Sleeved costumes restrict movement due to the taping, affecting our pair elements. Although it was a costume we loved so much that it inspired the design of our banner towels, we made the difficult decision to switch to a sleeveless costume.
As we prepare for the upcoming Four Continents Championships, we are diligently practicing every day. While our costumes have changed, we kindly ask for your continued support for “Rikuryu” along with our banner towels.”
