Angelika Krylova believes that Russian ice dancers could have competed for medals at the 2024 World Championships and wishes there were young pairs in the top.
“It’s really unfortunate that there were no Russian pairs. The top seven or eight pairs are very strong, then, I don’t think the level is too high. I think our pairs could have fought at the top at this World Championships.
The top five were indeed strong, with varied programs, it was interesting to watch. But everyone is very mature. There isn’t that youthfulness, everyone is already over 30. We want to see something new, some fresh wave,” said Krylova.

It’s utterly unfair that Russian skaters have been excluded from international competitions. I miss their talent and the beauty of the Russian programs. I do hope the situation will revert to normal.
