The press conference for the start of the 2023-2024 figure skating season’s Grand Prix (GP) series was held on the 8th in Tokyo. Here’s the translation of Shoma Uno’s comment, originally posted on Hochi News.
Speaking about this season, Shoma mentioned that his theme for this season is “self-satisfaction.” When asked about the reason behind this theme, he responded, “In the past two years, I have been truly satisfied with my results. However, when it comes to my own performances, I haven’t been able to create something that I can be completely satisfied with or that I want to watch again. This is my impression. This year, I want to focus on my expressive abilities and put my efforts into it, so I chose this theme.”
Regarding his programs for this season, Uno expressed, “I believe I can show a high-quality short program (SP). For the free skate, I hope to create a program that will move and inspire me throughout the entire season.”
Shoma Uno will participate in two Grand Prix events – Cup of China and NHK Trophy. The GP Final is scheduled to take place in December in Beijing, China.
