It was reported that the 17-year-old athlete left the coach’s group a few days ago and is now considering ending her career.
“In Tutberidze’s group, there is a constant process of people coming and leaing. It started back in 2015. There is a certain turnover there.
What concerns me more is that children at the age of four already face very serious training loads. It’s better to aim for results a little later, as life has shown. Because until the age of 15-16, they all jump and spin. But afterwards, they start struggling not only with technique and nerves but also with weight and height, which is almost impossible to control.
They start training early without considering what will happen to them during the transitional age. I am worried when parents’ ambitions exceed the abilities and opportunities of the child,” said the three-time Olympic champion.
