On July 8th, the premiere of the documentary film “Medvedeva vs. Medvedeva” took place in Moscow.
“Eteri Georgievna is a strict disciplinarian, it’s no secret. She doesn’t hide the fact that she is very demanding.
I had to work two to three times harder than girls who naturally had better flexibility, to develop a jump that is a gift to some girls and they can effortlessly execute a triple jump,” the figure skater revealed in the film.
The figure skater also shared her memories of the 2018 Olympics, where she lost to Alina Zagitova.
“How are we raised? It’s either gold or nothing. And we all strive for the Olympic gold medal. Psychologically, it is ingrained in your mind that it is the goal of your entire life, that it is the only thing you need in life.
Indeed, when I didn’t achieve it, I thought I had lost in life,” Medvedeva recalls.
About plans to start a family
“I want a family, children. I want my children to grow up in a complete family with a mother and a father. It’s also quite a significant work. Relationships, in principle, are very complicated, an untrodden field in my life for now.
This is my perspective for the next 10 years, but we currently live in a world where planning extends to 10 minutes, so these are just desires. We’ll see what happens,” said the two-time world champion in figure skating.
