Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje | new short dance
As their rivals from USA Chock & Bates Kaitlyn Weaver Andrew Poje had to change their short dance. We don’t know for sure why, maybe, the rhythm issues, maybe bad feedback from judges about not classical interpretation of the waltz. Maybe both, because now they choose one of the most famous classical waltz.
I didn’t like Chock’s gypsy dance but I thought Elvis had a potential. Maybe they will use some parts of it next season? They haven’t got much time to create and well prepare a new one, so I expected that execution won’t be perfect.
Actually, I don’t think that this music is 100% hint for this do. This music requires lightness and speed while Kaitlyn and Andrew are different type of skaters. They need something more powerful and dramatic. Thay also seem slow to me. But what I really like it’s presentation and presence on the ice. Kaitlyn and Andrew look like a king with his queen and in such subjective sport as ice dancing it can help you to get some extra points in your component scores.
But they are not so ready as Chock and Bates, who had a great performance of the short dance at Skate America last week.

Don’t know much about skating. Just what i like. Lovely program, beautiful dress and the judges get same old same old. Me I liked Elvis better and though it had great potential. And Andrew is a great Elvis.
Elvis was good. But from what I’ve seen judges prefer classical interpretation of a waltz. Hope they can use some parts of that dance for next season. Or at least make a new exhibition number.
