Evgenia Medvedeva: I want to try quad salchow at the end of the season
European Championships starts just in a couple hours, starts woth ladies’ short program.
Small comment from Evgenia Medvedeva who is an absolute favorite to win here. Zhenya told about her preparation for this competitions and plans for the end of the season:
The athlete is not always a face of his coach. Rather, the result of their work is the face of those two people. I think that we are alike with Eteri Georgievna. There are features in my character that my parents haven’t. but my coach has. For example, the endless persistence. She is a demanding coach.
This is sport and you have to invest a lot of energy and sometimes make yourself do something, and the work goes well in combination of our characters. Sport is such a thing that if you do not want to do something, then no one will be able to make you do it.
I really like official practices. There I can show everything I can and even more than I do in programs. When you come on the ice relaxed, with a cool head everything turns out. Our training plan is already made, we didn’t deviate from it.
Figure skating doesn’t stand still and you need to think and try something new. We must always go forward, you can’t stop. Sometimes it was so that I wanted to do something that in understanding of the coach is too soon. For example, a quad Salchow. It’s interesting for me and I want to try to do it, at the end of the season. – Evgenia said.
About competition with Alina Zagitova:
We are not just skating on the same rink, we skate on the same ice, at the same time. I love competition, but a healthy competition, just like we have in our group. This means that the athletes have normal friendly relationships, but when you feel that the athlete is improving next to you, you automatically start to move forward.

I agree sad so much competition from the young girls.her skating is beautiful she doesn’t need a quad.
She doesn’t need the stupid quad. None of these girls need a quad. I don’t want to see a quad done by any of these beautiful ladies. Evgenia is so young and if she attempts to land quads, she’s going to ruin her body and we will lose her in skating by the time she’s 22. She will suffer from arthritis and severe joint pain in her thirties! Do not do a quad!

Queen Evgenia, you do not need a quad. You are killing the rest of the competition already.
