In the movie “Side by side spin” on the Winline channel, some parts from the pair’s training sessions were shown. Specifically, during one session, Kostornaia got angry at Kunitsa: “You irritated me! I endured it for two years. I endured for two ###### years! I can no longer communicate with this person. He does not satisfy me on the ice as an athlete.” In the interview they spoke about arguments and conflicts on the ice. Here’s a translation.
“Georgi Kunitsa: Training together is tough. So understandable, sometimes you get tired of each other. Everything annoys you, absolutely everything. It’s difficult. Well, who said it was going to be easy? We knew this. We understood all the risks right from the start, and very often what happens in training is 100% based on emotions.
Alena Kostornaia: Apparently, at some point, I miscalculated my strength, and now it’s too late to change anything. That’s why the arguments and conflicts occur.
Georgi Kunitsa: In such moments, I try just not to listen at all to what’s happening, what she might be saying. I try to stay calmer because if I start saying something, usually it just goes like this (gestures an explosion with his hands – Sport).
Alena Kostornaia: Initially, everyone really goes through bargaining, depression, acceptance, and so on. But we haven’t reached the stage of acceptance yet. The stage of disappointment happens.
I know that my words sometimes hurt him. But he, in turn, knows that I say them not because I want to hurt him, but because I genuinely want the best. However, we still try… Home is home, ice is ice. There’s no ice at home.”

This is in the movie, isn’t it? Does not have to be a reality. But Georgi is weaker than Alena on the ice.
