Stanislav Pozdnyakov: Taking the New Year’s holiday into account, a new recommendation of the IOC Executive Committee should be expected in the second half of January.

My confidence is based on the declaration of the Olympic Summit, which clearly stated support for the return of athletes from Russia and Belarus to competitions in Asia.

The IOC will study this proposal. There will be conference calls with national Olympic committees, international federations, and athletes’ commissions from various countries.

Based on the results of studying the issue, the IOC Executive Board will decide whether to update its recommendation at the end of February. The reference to the Declaration of the Olympic Summit suggests that with a high degree of probability, our athletes will be able to take part in the Olympics.

The conditions for Olympic qualification may be changed so that athletes from Russia and Belarus can take part in them. If I said that in Paris our team would perform in the same lineup as in Tokyo, that would be cunning.

Of course, the composition will be smaller, but at the Olympic Summit, it was said that the Olympic family is a family that takes care of all athletes, regardless of their nationality.
