At what age did you start skating?
Alexandra Trusova: My parents brought me to figure skating at the age of 4
Do you remember what place you took at your first competitions?
Alexandra Trusova: Fourth.
What is the hardest jump for you?
Alexandra Trusova: Triple axel.
How did you jump the triple axel?
Alexandra Trusova: For the dog (laughs). For the douple axel I was given a chihuahua, and for the triple axel I was promised a miniature poodle.
Alexandra Trusova: Favorite spin?
Alexandra Trusova: Flying spin, because there is a jump. And I love to jump.
Have you tried jumping quintuples?
Alexandra Trusova: It’s still far from them. There’s a lot of work to do.
Is it difficult to learn a new program?
Alexandra Trusova: No, it’s not difficult. I love new programs very much because after a year it gets so boring to skate the same thing! For this season’s short program, I chose the music myself.
Are you planning on getting more dogs?
Alexandra Trusova: I now live separately from my parents. And it’s difficult with five dogs. I also have two cats.
Is it difficult to do sports with such long hair?
Alexandra Trusova: I haven’t tried it any other way. I’ve never cut my hair!
How many pairs of skates do you take with you to competitions?
Alexandra Trusova: Always one. I took two only to the Olympics.
And how many pairs of skates do you change per season?
Alexandra Trusova: I used to skate in Risport. And I changed up to 7 pairs per season. Now I switched to Edea, and now I manage with two pairs.
