Alexei Zheleznyakov: The victory gives an uplift of spirit after all these events that have taken place. Psychologically, the victory is only a plus for Kamila, she should rise up now.
It’s hard for the girls, there is almost no motivation, international competitions are closed for them, and all that remains is to perform only in Russia. But in Russia the competition is higher than in international events. And this is a big indicator for Kamila that she is performing well.
How to protect Kamila from the hysteria of world experts?
Alexei Zheleznyakov: Don’t let her read all this rubbish. We have a lot of “well-wishers”. Parents should help protect Kamila from malicious information: lock her from social networks, from reading articles and news, so as not to unsettle her, not to spoil her mood. Of course, it is difficult, but it must be done.
RUSADA (Russian Anti-Doping Agency) has decided not to disclose information on the case. What do you think about this step?
Alexei Zheleznyakov: I support it. There is a lot of hatred, it is impossible to read, and all this affects the psychological state of the athlete. Everyone remembers perfectly well what they did with Kamila at the Olympics.
Even then, no one had the right to disclose information [because of her age]. I think everything was done on purpose to unsettle Kamila, and they succeeded, which is what we saw at the Games.

Everyone normal in their head would gladly wrap their protecting wing around Kamila. Unfortunately, she’s a star in the spotlight, has to grow faster than most. Bombed by both propaganda and hatred, any talk about ‘protecting her’ is pure hypocrisy.
