Mikhail Nazarychev is a Russian pair skater. With his former partner, Iuliia Artemeva, he is the 2020 World Junior bronze medalist, the 2020 Russian junior national bronze medalistnand a 2019–20 Junior Grand Prix Final qualifier and winner of the Russian Junior Championship 2021.

Recently Mikhail has posted on his page on Instagram:

“It is very sad that my career came on the time of war. I don’t see it’s possible to go in for sports in a state that pursues such a policy.

I’m grateful to the fans who supported and believed. I don’t finish with sports, I will finish only when I see a skater more promising than me, but for now I don’t see any.

I’m very glad that sport gave me sincere, honest and normal friends, such as Aleksandr Galliamov and Andrei Filatov, the rest, as time and situations have shown, are full of hypocrisy and absolutely empty inside, such are not worth even a minute of time spent on them.

-If I knew from the beginning that it would be like this in sports, would I go?
-Yes

-Do I regret the wasted time, health and nerves?
-No

-Would I do it all over again?
-Yes

Do not forget that your life is not infinite. You will never be younger than now. Do not waste your time on meaningless living of days, on your miserable and degraded environment. What you watch, listen to, greatly affects you and changes your energy.

Listen to your heart and then you can find yourself.

As soon as I see that figure skating in Perm is dying, I will definitely help it, see you in ….”

Hat down, Misha, for your deep respect and awareness, unusual in your age category. I’ll pray you got away with it…

  2. Moni says:

Great voice! One who was courageous enough to name things with their true name. Russia is an aggressor and a terrorist state and is killing thousands of innocent people in Ukraine, including children. Now Russia will sacrifice its own citizens, including renowned skaters, for the sake of its oligarchs and their properties.

  3. No war says:

Cool and brave. Thank you, Mikhail. Did not understand what Mikhail meant about Perm as Perm is part of this state..
