The suspension of Russian athletes at the international arena is still relevant, but this does not mean that the skaters are idle!
Elizaveta Tuktamysheva has prepared new programs that she will present very soon with the rest of the Russian team at the test skates in Moscow. Photojournalist Daria Isaeva visited Liza to remind the audience with an exclusive photo shoot how beautiful Elizaveta is both on and off the ice.
Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: My day usually starts with a workout at Yubileiny ice rink. Our group has its own separate block near the site, where we warm up and prepare for the ice training. Real laboratory!
In addition to the usual warm-up, we work on a simulator that allows skaters to develop the resistance of the vestibular apparatus to fast rotations. This is a unique development of our coach Alexei Mishin, it helps to progress in jumping technique and spins.
Training on the ice lasts about an hour, during this time I manage to go through my programs a couple of times and work on some elements separately.
After the morning workout, there is time to have lunch and a little rest before the second workout. Usually we train twice a day, we spend seven hours a day at the rink. In addition to working on the ice, you need to work on choreography, general physical training and a cool down.
At home, I don’t always have enough time to cook full meals. It’s good to have delivery! But while there are stocks of delicacies brought from the summer training camp, you can have a snacks.
I give the kids almost all the souvenirs and toys that are thrown on the ice after my performances. But I decided to keep this bear, it is more cozy with him at home.
This season, while I’m skating in old skates, I haven’t broken into the new ones yet. Anyone who has worn a new pair of boots will understand how hard it is to get used to them.
The fans gave me the tiara. But, unlike typical empresses, I usually clean the house myself!
I love my apartment, but there is a desire to move to another area, closer to the cultural center of St. Petersburg, where there are more parks and small cafes. During the season there is not much time for leisure, but sometimes it’s great to change the scenery.
Sometimes there is time for reading. I love fiction, and now I’m reading Anatomy of Human Destructiveness by Erich Fromm. The book goes a little hard, but there are a lot of good thoughts. I advise!
