How are you feeling?

Anastasia: The training today was very early, the performance was also very early. It’s usual for us, so we made several small mistakes and one rather big one.

What has happened at the end, what did go wrong?

Anastasia: We ourselves have not yet understood what happened. It happened so quickly that everything seems to be going well, and then you feel that you are lying on the ice.

Alexander: I don’t want to make excuses, but we really don’t tend to make such mistakes. We never allow this in training and competitions. Perhaps the reason is the early start time. We have never woken up as early as today. Usually pairs are placed later in the program, because this is the most traumatic discipline.

How do you plan to perform next time?

Aleksandr: We plan to take a break, as there will be individual competitions. We need to recover and then get back in shape, which will allow to show an error-free performance in such competitions.

Despite the fall, the judges scored the performance of Mishina and Galliamov with 145.20 points. This is the best result among the participants.

Second place was taken by the Japanese Riku Miura / Ryuichi Kihara (139.60). Third place went to the Chinese pair Cheng Peng/Jin Yang (131.75).

Yesterday, many people were surprised that we have no substitutions in the team. Maybe you would have been more comfortable to rest?

Mishina: We didn’t even think about it.

Galliamov: We do not decide this. Our job is to go and do all the elements, bring results to our team. They said skate – we skate.

Mishina: The federation decides, we thought that it could be different. And one substitution, and two, and no substitution at all. All of our pairs are very strong. Therefore, we were ready for anything.

Have you been asked your opinion on this at all?

Mishina: No.

Galliamov: And what’s the point of asking our opinion if the federation watches all the training sessions and can see everything, looking at the readiness of the athletes.

Mishina: In general, just everything is ready.
