Do you agree that Dina’s silver and Arina’s 4th place against was unfair?

Evgenia Medvedeva: First of all, I would like to congratulate the girls and all of us on the end of the individual all-around competitions. The days were very nervous. Regarding the judging … I don’t know what to say. Obviously, something was wrong with the judging, and this is no longer an accident, but a pattern, if every second athlete filed a protest for the scores. Someone managed to win the tenths, some did not. It is good that at least some of the protests of our gymnasts were satisfied, but it is a pity that not all of them, and especially the last one, which could have influenced the placement, is a pity.

Regarding Arina and Dina. The girls performed with digniny, despite the moment when Arina had to change the ribbon during the exercise. As Rita Mamun, who commented on rhythmic gymnastics, said, this was due to high humidity.

About Dina, I can only say that she did great. I think their real places are definitely not second and fourth. The first and second, first and third, perhaps, but definitely not the way the judges decided in the end.

When an athlete feels prejudiced from the judges, what can he do?

Evgenia Medvedeva: The athlete cannot do anything about it. Fortunately, in gymnastics there is an opportunity to protest the mark a minute after, but this does not help in every case. It is not always possible to fight, and the saddest thing is that you really can’t do anything about it.

How to survive such a painful defeat, which happened with the Averins? You had a difficult personal Pyeongchang experience. How long did it take to heal such wounds?

Evgenia Medvedeva: Only time will help. And still not completely, I guess. This is truly a fateful turn in their lives. Only years later, the girls will understand why and what it was all for. Such events don’t just happen. They are given to us from above for something. I hope that Dina and Arina will get over it relatively easily. Because for every athlete, this is really a tragedy. I wish them endurance, strength and faith in themselves. Do not give up. To become the best version of themself proving that there was a huge mistake at the Olympics. Unfortunately, not only the judges, who, in principle, should be sent to run 350 circles as punishment, will have to live with the burden of this mistake. But girls will have to live with it. And there is no escape from this.

How would you support Dina and Arina now?

Evgenia Medvedeva: I really want to support Dina and Arina. All this will pass. Everything will be fine soon, everything will be fine. Pity is not what they needt at all. They are fighters and professional athletes. People who gave their lives to sports, they did not do it for you to pity them.

Dina, Arina hold on, everything will be fine! The most worthy girls, the best. We love you very much and will support you, no matter what happens in your life.

Please stop Evgenia and similar people from commenting on sports you have no clue about… Makes Russia look even a more sore loser

I don’t really care about Dina not coming first, she’s still on the podium with a silver medal after all, like you know, an actual all around medal! What I’m sad for is Arina’s ribbon routine. It would have been cool for her to be on the podium after everything she’s been through.
I mean I don’t really understand the scoring in rhythmic gymnastics anyways, it’s probably even more subjective than figure skating…

There was no robbery. Ashram had more difficulty so the drop did not take away the gold.

The Russians whine every time they lose. The Artistic head for Russia, Valentina whined Angelina Melnikova was robbed also and she was the most overscored gymnast at the Olympics next to Sunisa Lee.

    Ash 18.5, 19.100, 19.400, 15.000
    vs
    Dina 18.2, 19.000, 18.700, 14.800

If anything the judges were trying to cheat for Dina to win with her execution scores.
