Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: it wouldn’t be fair for me to say that young girls shouldn’t be allowed to compete in seniors

Some comments from Elizaveta Tuktamysheva about junior skaters and Evgenia Medvedeva.

Elizaveta: I was a little girl when Adelina Sotnikova and I began to participate in senior competitions, we also put pressure on adult women. So now it wouldn’t be fair for me to say that these young girls shouldn’t be allowed to compete, because I’ve been that same little girl.

At the same time, I understand that there is pressure on senior skaters. But there were strong young skaters, and everyone wants to win. There was strong competition, therefore we have such results. That is why for four years nobody has been able to beat us in women’s single skating.

About Evgenia Medvedeva:
Elizaveta: This is an interesting path. Every athlete has to go through it. This is just a new stage – a change of coach. You have to get used to it. She understands this perfectly. Well, I also went through it. No need to do a big tragedy out of it. The main thing is what she did earlier. You skate because you know that you can. While Zhenya is skating, I think she will have the year as I have now. She skates, so she knows that she can. If Zhenya hadn’t known it, she would have finished.
