If Zagitova and Medvedeva skate their programs clean, Tuktamysheva will not beat them. Liza can beat Zhenya or Alina in technique, but not in the second mark. This is mainly about skating skills and presentation.
Liяa can take hers in technical mark due to the clean execution of the triple axel. If she jumps two triple axels in the free program and executes them qualitatively, then she will definitely be the first in technique. But as for the second mark, she needs transitions, more artistry. Skating should be softer.
Whatever one may say, there is a new system of judging, and we must follow it. We don’t have a choice. Of course, jumps are important, but the judging system is such that you need to spin and skate well, you also need transitions. We live in the era of new figure skating, so we must follow these rules.

I don’t find funny that he said it. He understand the FS and the rules. He is a coach himself and not a longtime pupil of a great coach. He is a legend he skated for 16 years in highest level his skating was fantastic and his skills was good enough to beat everyone. And if anybody follows his works, skating on shows can see the development of his skating today isn’t wondering why he said it. :)
