Tarasova commented on Evgenia Medvedeva’s change of program
Tatiana Tarasova commented on Evgenia Medvedeva’s change of free program:
This change is connected with her inner intellectual growth. She grew out of that program, it’s very right decision. She has become better in this new program: we see that she is in the music, she feels it, she corresponds to it. I saw her performance two times, and each time there was a different ending.
I like that people seek and are not afraid of this, the one who seeks will always find. They found.
Maybe I missed, but did Averbukh say anything? Where all the angry comments?) Or he’s going to keep silent since she still keeps his short program?
This’s also a big chance for Daniil Gleykhengauz, he may become a choreographer of two Olympic medal-winning programs. Quite an accomplishment)

If skaters do the Romeo/Juliet dying part in Romeo & Juliet programs, I don’t see why she shouldn’t do it either.
It not the dying part that I have doubts about. It’s like, we often complains about young girls doing Carmen, but is Anna Karenina a much better choice for a young girl?
I got bored watching the Anna Karenina program. The music did not engage me, and the opening sequence with the muff looked like something for Ice Age or Stars on Ice, not a professional competition.
Well, that was an exhibition program, probably they didn’t change it much. Unfortunately, who cares….if she does the jumps, the gold is hers.
Wait, what happend? So Evgenia’s FP is now officially the Anna Karenina one, which used to be her EX this year?
They decided to change it. The viewers (and I think judges also) wasn’t much enthusiastic about that FP about faith….
LOL understandable. I went to check out the Japan Open videos after seeing this post. At least I got what it was about (the merit of using a movie soundtrack) and the music was better, in my opinion. The original FS music was poorly put together, sounded fragmented to me (but I only watched it once so maybe I’m just slow).
Still hate the train sounds though, most people get the Anna Karenina story, there is no need to refer to that suicide scene…
Well I can’t say that Anna Karenina’s OST is a memorable music or differs much from her first FP for this season. But at least this new program has a clear and understandable idea. Plus it’s part of Russian culture, so it can be good choice for Olympics. Many skaters choose something national for Olympics.

Completely agree.
