Kavaguti / Smirnov are ready to participate in all major competitions
Tamara Moskvina coach of Yuko Kawaguti / Alexander Smirnov told how Yuko’s recovery will affect participation in the competition of this season.
If guys are ready after the injury, then we’ll go to both Grand-prix. If they don’t have time to recover till the second stage of the Grand Prix in Canada, then we’ll automatically withdrawn from the Grand-prix in Beijing. In this case, we will prepare for the Russian National Championships.
Our position is this: if the guys are ready, will participate in all competitions.
We are ready to participate in all major competitions of the upcoming season, we’re full of enthusiasm and optimism. But how the situation will turn out depends on many factors, the most important among them – the stage of readiness after the injury. – Moskvina said.

Another news about Russian pairs – Volosozhar and Trankov won’t compete at Grand-pix. Not really surprising but now it’s official. According to Alexander Kogan (General director of Russian figure skating federation) federation totally approved such decision:
Adelina Sotnikova and Volosozhar / Trankov will not participate in the stages of Grand Prix. They have their own training plans that are coordinated with the Federation.

I’m thrilled to see Yuko and Alexander back but I’m worried about how they will stand up to DR and SH and SK. They need to nail those quads!
