World and European champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva shared that the most nerve-wracking moment of the 2026 Olympics for her was watching Petr Gumennik’s free skate, and she expressed her support for him from afar.

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, spoke about what she considered the most nerve-wracking moment of the figure skating tournament at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy – Petr Gumennik’s performance in the short program. Here’s a translation of her comments.

Q: If you think about the Olympics as a whole, what was the most nerve-wracking moment for you?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: The most nerve-wracking moment was probably Petya Gumennik’s short program, when I wasn’t at the Olympics. That was the most nerve-wracking.”

Gumennik was the only Russian figure skater in men’s singles at the 2026 Olympic Games. He finished sixth in the competition.

Tuktamysheva also spoke about supporting Petr Gumennik at the 2026 Olympics in Milan (Italy).

Q: You were there for Gumennik at the Olympics. Do you think you were able to help or support him in any way? What emotions did you feel?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: I don’t know. I wasn’t at the Olympics with him, I was with Okko (TV boadcaster). I think Petr felt my support from afar (laughs).”
