Kevin Aymoz reflected on the challenges he faced before and during the European Championships, expressing resilience and renewed motivation as he looks ahead to Milan. Here’s a translation of his post on Instagram.

“The European Championships have always been a special event for me – a competition that has often confronted me with my doubts and fears. This year was no exception.

In recent weeks, I’ve been through a lot in a short time. A foot injury prevented me from training as I would have liked… but that wasn’t all. I had to endure the noise of social media, baseless hate, and attacks related to who I am. This kind of violence is invisible to others but just as exhausting.

There was also a necessary but complicated skate change, which cost me time, energy, and some of my feel on the ice. When things finally started to come together, I had only a week left to get my bearings before the competition.

It was hard – I suffered and I doubted. And the result wasn’t what I had hoped for.

But that’s also what sport is! It’s accepting that you’re not always ready when you want to be. It’s weathering storms, even at the worst times. It’s understanding that the path isn’t linear and that challenges are part of the story.

Today, I want to say something important: I’m okay!

I’m okay because I know where I’m going, I know who I am, and I have a team, friends, and family around me who support me.

And above all, I’m more motivated than ever!!! I’ve already gotten back up, and I will rise again.

I’ve resumed training with a clearer mind, motivation, and new challenges… NEXT STOP: MILAN.

Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged me.

The future is ahead.”
