At the European Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield, Niina Petrokina took the lead after the women’s short program. She scored 70.61 points, a new personal best, surpassing her previous record of 68.94 from last year’s European Championships in Tallinn. Here’s a translation of his comments posted on ERR.
“I was so calm. I was nervous during the warm-up, but then I tried, as my coach told me, to calm down,” Petrokina said after her performance. “When I started skating, I controlled every movement, just as we had worked on with the choreographer.”
