Russian journalist Elena Vaytsekhovskaya praised Amber Glenn’s U.S. Nationals victory, calling her performance Olympic-level and expressing hope to see her skate like that at the Games.

“After Amber Glenn’s performance and her third U.S. title, I have one thought: I really, truly want to see Glenn skate like that at the Olympic Games. Because yesterday’s performance was Olympic in every sense. The kind of skate people call the performance of a lifetime.

I’m not saying that with a skate like that Glenn will win the Olympics. But in terms of focus, commitment, and emotion, it was absolutely off the charts. It was the performance of someone who put everything they had on the line – like betting it all on ‘13 black’ – and hit the jackpot.

The only thing that bothers me is that such a skate should have happened somewhere else, at another time. Now, for me, Glenn in Milan is one of the most exciting storylines. Maybe it’s because I’m not entirely sure Amber can deliver a program like that twice in a row,” Vaytsekhovskaya wrote.
